NCAA Eligibility
If you are a potential Division I or Division II athlete, you will need to following steps:
1. Register with the NCAA clearinghouse (website above.)
2. Fill out the NCAA Transcript Release Form & return it to the counselor's (my) office.
3. Review the requirements to be a NCAA athlete. They can be complicated. You can consult with the requirements guides below.

Simplified NCAA Requirements
- All NCAA college athletes must complete 16 "Core" courses throughout high school
- GPA of core courses & ACT scores are taken into account based on a sliding scale
(Minimum GPA is 2.0. You must display academic ability to be eligible. The lower the GPA, the higher your ACT score must be. See the scale in the requirements guide for reference.)
NAIA Eligibility
NAIA Eligibility Center If you plan to play college sports for a private college, they may belong to the NAIA. If the school belongs to the association, you will need to register with the NAIA eligibility center. Please consult the list of Iowa NAIA colleges below to see if your college belongs to the NAIA. |

- Achieve a minimum accumulative score of 18 on the ACT exam
- Achieve a minimum accumulative GPA of 2.0 during high school
- Graduate in the top half of your class
